Katori Shinto Ryu: Iaido

Description: This video show part of the primary curricullum of the Katori Shinto Ryu budo -- iaido, or the art of drawing the sword. The video does not include all of the forms in this particular art. This was filmed as part of a large martial arts demonstration at Meiji-Jingu shrine. The video shows demonstrations by both members of Sugino Yoshio's dojo, and members of Otake Risuke's dojo. Marked differences will be seen between students of the two masters. Filmed at Meiji-Jingu Shrine, Tokyo, November 3, 1996

Katori Shinto Ryu: Bo

Description: This video show part of the primary curricullum of the Katori Shinto Ryu budo -- the use of the long staff, or bo. This was filmed as part of a large martial arts demonstration at Meiji-Jingu shrine. The video shows demonstrations by both members of Sugino Yoshio's dojo, and members of Otake Risuke's dojo. This was filmed as part of a large martial arts demonstration at Meiji-Jingu shrine. The video shows demonstrations by both members of Sugino Yoshio's dojo, and members of Otake Risuke's dojo. Marked differences will be seen between students of the two masters. Note that two of the forms are not captured from Otake Dojo. Filmed at Meiji-Jingu Shrine, Tokyo, November 3, 1996
